About Rutland

With over 3000 acres of water, this is the largest man made lake in Europe.

Visitors come to enjoy walking and cycling along 25 miles of traffic-free paths around its shores and to participate in the water sports of sailing, windsurfing, canoeing or fly-fishing. The 450-acre nature reserve provides bird-hides and a bird watching centre.
